RIP Speedy. My Small Tribute.

Tragic news today that Gary Speed has died, apparently taking his own life.

Gary Speed was the ultimate pro, racking up over 500 games in the Prem and never let the Toon down whenever he played.

What makes this all the more shocking is that anyone who tuned into BBC's Football Focus yesterday would have seen Speedy sat next to Gary McAllister in the studio talking about the good old days with Leeds plus also the future of Wales. He mentioned the tough group they were in and spoke of the decent future ahead for Welsh football. Nobody watching him yesterday would have any idea what was to come. Absolutely shocking.

On a personal note, I took part in a charity match 10 years ago through www.footballaid.com at St James' Park and I had myself the NUFC No.11 shirt as you lined up to play for 'Newcastle' to live the dream, as they put it. You sat in the home dressing room before the game with your name on the back of the shirt and as I looked around and sat in my place I said the words, "Speedy sits here". That signed shirt (by Beardsley) takes on a new significance for myself now.

He was showing signs of a decent manager, turning a poor Wales team into a not bad outfit with some decent results. If indeed he has took his own life through depression, it is a very sad end to a cracking pro but more importantly, a cracking person on all accounts.

RIP Speedy, you will be missed.

Incompetence or Lies?!

I thought things were too quiet and going too smoothly.....Boom they have done it AGAIN!

Are our illustrious leaders capable of anything commercially sound and intelligent?!!

What does he thinks this change is going to do amongst fans? Anger mainly. So why would any company want to associate themselves with a hate campaign......and pay for the privilage? Why would any compnay want to go into any financial deal with these clowns? Why would any company pay money to actually compete with the Sports Direct brand thats filled the stadium for next to nothing, when they would have to pay £10mil a season for the privilege?! Why would any company decide to buy the rights to St James, sorry Sports Direct Arena (awful), now when they have been up for grabs for 2 years?...because St James is suddenly not in the sportsdirect.com@ part?!!! Is this how companies decide to whether or not to sponsor a stadium or not, by looking at what the name is now and deciding...our name sounds better dont you think!!!!!

WHAT IS THIS??!!!!!?!!

Its bull****!

Its the typical conclusion to EVERYTHING MA and DL come up with.

Its either totally INCOMPETENT and never going to happen. Or. Its a total LIE to cover up what they really want and thats simply to promote his OWN company.

What do you reckon this time? Incompetence or Lies?

What we all know is going to be the scenario come next season is NUFC will have SportsDirect sponsors and play their home games @ Sport Direct Arena (which we all know Sky Sports will jump all over with a HUGE smug smile mocking us as they say it every week) for a significant time to come!

F*ck. Off.
